Steve is the Executive Director of the Small Business Finance Association, a non-profit advocacy representing the non-bank alternative finance industry. The SBFA’s mission is to educate policymakers and regulators about the technology-driven platforms emerging in the small business lending market and how member companies bridge the small business capital gap using innovative financing solutions.
Steve has 17 years of experience working in public affairs in both Congress and private sector. Previously, Mr. Denis served as the Staff Director of the Small Business Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has held senior aide positions in both the House and Senate working on the front-lines of public policy, with a focus on financial services, technology, and international relations.
Although Steve lives in the Washington, DC area he is a native New Englander and loyal Boston sports fan. While waiting for the next New England Patriots Super Bowl run he dabbles in toddler management, golf, skiing and reliving the glory days from his washed up hockey career.
